At my core, I am a client-centered therapist. I believe that the right therapeutic environment that is rich in empathy and genuine connection can help a person grow to their fullest potential. The process of counseling is like embarking on a journey of self- exploration and self-discovery. I like to consider my role as the facilitator in this journey where the client is the expert of their own life.
I love working with children and adults. I have experience working as a school-based therapist in Kalamazoo Public Schools offering counseling to children and adolescents. I have extensive knowledge on how trauma impacts individuals and understand that to find peace, individuals need to uncover and heal the root cause of the problem. I love to use humor and relationship to build a strong alliance with my clients. I feel it is important to explore a multitude of treatment options that could be the best fit.
I am an LGBTQ+ ally and I love working with all people.
